AJ Anderson

Landscape Designer

During his academic tenure at the University of Rhode Island, AJ Anderson concentrated on community planning and urban-scale projects, drawing inspiration from the role of design in uniting communities. He also investigated strategies for enhancing the sustainability of coastal cities and regions, focusing on addressing sea level rise and environmental challenges.

Raised in New England, AJ Anderson's background fostered a strong interest in design, informed by his appreciation for art and nature. At URI, he developed a robust commitment to sustainable design, emphasizing the creation of distinctive spaces that harmonize with the natural environment. His hands-on experience in landscaping during summer employment equipped him with valuable skills in translating conceptual designs into practical, built landscapes, deepening his understanding of outdoor space development.

Beyond his professional pursuits, AJ Anderson maintains diverse interests. He is an enthusiastic sports participant and spectator, enjoying hiking basketball, golf, soccer, and various other athletic activities.
